To Live of Love

To live of love is to sail afar and bring both peace and joy where'er I be. O Pilot blest! Love is my guiding star; in every soul I meet, Thyself I see. Safe sail I on, through wind or rain or ice; love urges me, love conquers every gale. High on my mast behold is my device: 'By love I sail!' - st. therese

DigDeep: This one is for you, George

this is the water

(right outside my living room window) that I miss so dearly...along with all the family and friends I would be enjoying it with tomorrow on boats, with beers and fireworks, to celebrate our wonderful independence.

this water is a part of the 6 inches of standing water

i cleaned out of this

 broken dishwasher

that was has been in our kitchen since we moved in. the water had been there since we moved in as well. it smelled lovely.

but neither of these compare to this water...

from which, according to

,

a small village of about 200 people in rural South Sudan has been collecting water for years and which they share with cattle, reptiles, and anything else that happens into this milky, open and unprotected life-sustaining but stomach worm-giving source of water.

why am I telling you this?

because the importance of water is something you
need to know about.

because the scarcity of clean water and
the danger of infected, filthy, and disease infested water is something you
need to care about.

because DigDeep is the newest NGO working to 'clean up' these issues and which
needs to be talked about, supported, promoted, and donated to

so that they can continue to do the amazing work they have already begun, starting with the soon-to-be newest independent
South Sudan.
(their independence day is on the upcoming July 9th!!)

check it out.
it's what my brother's up to.
its what you should be up to, too.
